Who is Mama Hawk?

Liz Hawkins, from New Hope, PA. She is the mother of 4 grown children, and 2 (so far!) grandchildren. While her kids were still living at home and going to school in New Hope, their friends would often visit their home, sit in her retro turquoise painted kitchen, chat with Liz at her counter and eat fresh baked treats. They gave her the name Mama Hawk, and it stuck!

She opened her first Mama Hawk’s Kitchen in the small town of Hamilton, MO north of Kansas City. Hamilton is a destination city for quilters, and is deemed Quilt Town, USA. Liz had spent 10 years in the quilt industry as a quilt and textile designer before opening her kitchen in Hamilton. She spent two years there, building her Mama Hawk brand before moving back to her home in New Hope. She’s excited to offer her full menu at Peddler’s Village.

After visiting Hawaii, we fell in love with the foods, culture, and healthy lifestyle of the islands. Our travels inspired us to recreate traditional Hawaiian dishes at home. Soon our family and friends were hooked on the fresh island flavors of our creations – and the idea behind Moku-Bowls was born. Our signature poke bowls, pronounced (poh-KAY), are a new spin on an Asian-inspired Hawaiian classic, traditionally consisting of marinated chunks of meat or seafood. At Moku-Bowls, we serve our own style of poke over rice or zucchini noodles in a bowl filled with fresh vegetables and topped with crunchy add-ons and mouthwatering sauces. We also offer healthy Acai, Pitaya, Chia seed pudding, and fresh Greek yogurt sunshine bowls.  We add fresh fruit, organic granola, nuts, Nutella and a dash of honey to sweeten your morning. Pepper Palace specializes in all-natural products that are hand crafted in small batches. They offer Wild to Mild hot sauce, salsa, dips, seasonings, barbeque sauce, marinades, pepper jellies, rubs and more.

The store’s hottest hot sauce, called “The End: Flatline Hot Sauce,” is made with a combination of four of the hottest hot peppers around in addition to a hefty dose of pepper extract. The Cloak and Wand

The Cloak and Wand is a fantasy shop and potion bar dedicated to the wizards and witches of folklore, myth and literature.

In September of 2017, we opened The Lahaska Bookshop, a sister store to the Doylestown Bookshop. We have an experienced staff of bibliophiles in both locations who understand the importance of customer service, programming, and community support. The staff of the Lahaska Bookshop is dedicated to working with our community to be a literary center and meeting place for all.

We are a small custom bake shop, started out in Pipersville PA. We opened our doors in spring 2010 and have been going strong ever since, even landed a spot on The Food Networks show Cupcake Wars! Everything is made from scratch, using only the best and freshest ingredients. We specialize in filled cupcakes and have a nice selection in our cases Monday thru Sundays. Everything we make as a cupcake can be special ordered as a cake. We also make homemade cookies, bars, cheesecakes and other delicious pastries. We offer seating, so come on in enjoy a cupcake and a cup of coffee.

Our research started in Europe over 40 years ago, we now have family name histories and coats of arms for over 1 million names worldwide. 

Highlights from our antique map collection include pieces by Colton, Mitchell, and Johnson,  the first American map publishers from the 1800s.   

Our antique map collection features original hand colored steep plate engraved maps (never reproductions) made in the USA during the civil war era.
