Listen to a podcast episode featuring Donna Jamison
Fifty-nine years ago, Earl and Sheila Jamison began a project fueled by passion: creating a special haven in Lahaska, Pennsylvania, where people could shop, dine, and enjoy natural beauty. They rolled up their sleeves and got to work.
Peddler’s Village opened in 1962 with 14 shops and a flagship restaurant, the Cock ‘n Bull. Today, the property comprises 65 specialty shops and boutiques, seven restaurants, a 66-room inn, and an indoor entertainment center, and is one of the top attractions in the Philadelphia area.
Donna Jamison, one of Earl and Sheila’s five children, recalls the early days of Peddler’s Village and her parents’ vision in this podcast episode recently produced by Brooke Hillman and Visit Bucks County.
Even today, Peddler’s Village is a family-owned business that operates under Donna’s purview; she is chair of the board. There’s nothing quite like being able to hear her describe in her own words what it was like to grow up in one of the most celebrated spots in Bucks County! To listen, click here.
If you would like to share your own memories of Peddler’s Village, we’d love to hear them! Please send your written descriptions and photos to info@peddlersvillage.com. We’d love to collect them in advance of our 60th anniversary in 2022.
