Featuring The Janis Project by Frank Hyder

Kick off the summer with outdoor art on display throughout the Village!

Spanning just over three weeks, Art in the Village will feature eight large-scale inflatable pieces—giant, vibrantly colorful heads that are part of the Janis Project created by internationally known artist Frank Hyder—located throughout the property as well as reproductions of paintings on view in the galleries of the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, which is the Village’s cultural collaborator for this event. Pieces from The Janis Project were also featured in an exhibition at the Michener Art Museum this past winter.

Village Galleries

These outdoor art displays will complement the year-round art found in four Peddler’s Village galleries: Lachman Studio, Upstairs Gallery, Lighthouse Galleries, and Artisans Gallery.

Discover Local Artists

During Art in the Village, guests will be able to find artistic “discoveries” throughout the Village. Local artists ranging from glass blowers to plein air painters will be displaying and demonstrating their craft.

Bucks County Community College’s Artmobile

Bucks County Community College’s Artmobile on June 1 and 2

On June 1 and 2, the Village will host the Bucks County Community College’s Artmobile, a non-collecting, traveling museum whose current exhibition is Planting Seeds: The Art & Science of Pollination. Inspired by a long-term meadow restoration project in Tyler State Park, the exhibition tracks the progress of this project through photography and other documentary means, and features 14 artists and scientists from across the nation who work to increase awareness of pollinators in our environment.

On Thursday evening, June 13, we will be hosting Village Food Trucks, and on Saturday, June 15, we will be hosting a Village Wine Stroll featuring wines produced south of the equator.

Art & Wine Festival

Join us for the first Art & Wine Festival on June 22 and 23, featuring al fresco dining, painting activities for adults and children, live entertainment, and–of course–wine tasting and events. Frank Hyder will visit Peddler’s Village and will lead a walk and talk program about his work at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 and on Sunday, June 23–and there will be plenty more to entertain visitors of all ages!
