Independent Bookstore Day (IBD) is a one-day national party at indie bookstores across the country on the last Saturday in April. Every store is unique and independent, and every party is different. There are exclusive books and literary items that you can only get on that day. Not before. Not after. Nowhere else.

Please note: The Doylestown & Lahaska Bookshops may not have all of the items listed on the merch page; please call ahead if there is a specific item you are looking for. These items will be available for sale beginning on Saturday, April 27th, 2024.
*Please note that limited-edition IBD merch will go on sale online at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 27th EST. Merch will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.

DOYLESTOWN:
11:00 AM – Storytime with Lolly Hopwood
12:00 PM – Children’s Face painting with Alicia
1:00 PM – Town & Country Players perform Shakespeare in honor of Shakespeare’s Birthday (April 23)
2:00 PM – Storytime and book signing with Lisa Papp. See a list of Lisa’s books here!
FROM 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Raffles every hour on the hour beginning at 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Post a picture of yourself in front of The Doylestown or Lahaska Bookshop, tagging the bookstore and #IndieBookstoreDay to be entered into a drawing to win a private shopping hour at the store of your choice with four friends! The winners will be notified on Wednesday, May 1st.
- Order at least $25 worth of books from www.doylestownbookshop.com on Saturday, April 27th, to be automatically entered into a drawing or receive a secret gift in their package.
- Share your favorite book with us on our larger-than-life book banner (located on our cafe window at the Main Street entrance.)
- Enter a raffle to win a free signed advanced readers copy of A Novel Summer by Jamie Brenner.
LAHASKA:
1:00 PM – Meet the booksellers! Chat with Marguerite, Dalia, and Jenn about what they are reading, what upcoming books they are looking forward to, and what their favorite book picks are.
FROM 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
