On Saturday afternoon, March 28, join us for a two-part presentation, “Birds and Boxes,” that will improve your birdhouse–and your chances of winning a prize in our third annual Best of the Nest: Birdhouse Competition & Display. The presentation will include a question-and-answer session.

Part One: “Fantastic Feathered Friends”
Presented by the Honey Hollow Nature Center
Many birds call Bucks County home! Learn about their habitats and behaviors, how to spot them, and why they are so important to our natural world. We will also discuss the kinds of houses different birds like to live in.
Part Two: “Birdhouse Style – Thinking Outside the Box”
Presented by members of the Bucks County Chapter of the American Institute of Architects
During this discussion of birdhouse style, we will cover a brief history of birdhouses, the elements of birdhouses, and what makes each house unique. We’ll dive into the rules for Best of the Nest, basic design principles such as form and function, and provide inspiration for the creation of your own special home for birds!
