Winners in each category are named by architects and bird experts. Scroll for this year’s winners! \n\nVote for your favorite birdhouse until May 10 through the Peddler’s Village mobile app \n\n\nCheck out all the Best of the Nest fun in this segment from WFMZ 69! \n\nSupport Local Nonprofits\nFor this event\, Peddler’s Village is proud to partner with the Bucks County Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the Honey Hollow Nature Center. \nBy participating in this event as either a birdhouse creator or a visitor\, you can support two local nonprofits. Creators can donate their birdhouses to a fundraising auction\, and visitors can donate either directly or by “buying” additional votes for their People’s Choice favorites. Donations can be made and ballots can be obtained at the Visitor and Event Center on Street Road. \n\nBucks County Audubon Society at Honey Hollow \nHoney Hollow Nature Center was founded in 1969 to educate and engage children and adults of the greater Bucks County region about our natural world\, with an emphasis on conservation and stewardship\, including protection of birds\, wildlife\, and habitats. \nWe’re just around the corner from Peddler’s Village. Honey Hollow Nature Center maintains a thriving nature preserve with over six miles of hiking trails that are open to the public from dawn to dusk every day for hiking\, bird watching\, or just enjoying. The grounds boast an organic vegetable garden\, Audubon Pond\, meadows\, forests\, and of course\, the Honey Hollow creek. \nHoney Hollow Nature Center offers a wide variety of programs for all ages. Each year Honey Hollow provides high quality educational programs for over 5\,000 people\, from children at summer camp and field trips to birding trips and lectures for all ages. Visit honeyhollownaturecenter.org for more information on our programs. Venmo: @HoneyHollowTrails  \n\nAIA Bucks County’s George J. Donovan Memorial Scholarship \nAIA Bucks County’s George J. Donovan Memorial Scholarship assists Bucks County high school graduates (graduating seniors) interested in furthering their education in architecture and related fields. The scholarship was created in memory of George J. Donovan\, AIA who was instrumental in shaping the architecture of Bucks County during his career of over 50 years until his passing in 2018. In his retirement\, Mr. Donovan was a prolific watercolor artist who displayed his work in the former Upstairs Gallery at Peddler’s Village. Over the years\, Mr. Donovan and the firm that is part of his legacy\, Phillips & Donovan Architects\, LLC\, have been instrumental in the planning and design of many of the buildings in Peddler’s Village.

SUMMARY:Natalie Pompilio at the Lahaska Bookshop for Independent Bookstore Day
DESCRIPTION:Lahaska: Independent Bookstore Day w/ Natalie Pompilio ft. Philadelphia: A Walk Through History\nJoin us for a special Independent Bookstore Day event with local author Natalie Pompilio as she signs her book Philadelphia: A Walk Through History at The Lahaska Bookshop on Saturday\, April 25th\, 2026\, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. \nAbout the Book:\nWelcome to Philadelphia\, birthplace of the United States 250 years ago and one of America’s most dynamic cities today. These guided walks will introduce you to the people who helped shape the nation and the places where they lived\, worked\, and made history. There are familiar names–it’s impossible to tell America’s origin story without mentioning Benjamin Franklin\, George Washington\, and Thomas Jefferson–but not all the stories you’ll read about them are well-known. You’ll meet lesser-known individuals–including women and enslaved Africans–who risked their lives and liberty because they believed in government for the people\, by the people. With author Natalie Pompilio as your guide\, these walks present history in a friendly and fascinating way\, including details that make these history-makers relatable. They were ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances who couldn’t foresee success but were willing to sacrifice for a more just way of life for all. Buy the book. \nAbout our Guest:\nAward-winning journalist Natalie Pompilio has lived and written in Philadelphia for more than 20 years. After staff positions at newspapers including The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Philadelphia Daily News\, Natalie began freelancing in 2007 and has had newspaper and magazine articles published nationally and internationally. Her Philadelphia-centric publications include the children’s book Philadelphia A to Z with photographer Jennifer Zdon; More Philadelphia Murals and the Stories They Tell with Jane Golden and Robin Rice; Walking Philadelphia: 30 Walking Tours Exploring Art\, Architecture\, History and Little-Known Gems with photographer Tricia Pompilio; and This Used to Be Philadelphia with photographer Tricia Pompilio. Natalie lives a mile south of the Liberty Bell in a three-story brick rowhouse located on an alley off an alley.
