SUMMARY:PSF “Play On!” Community Tour: As You Like It
DESCRIPTION:Shakespeare’s As You Like It\n\nBy William Shakespeare \nDirected by Jason King Jones\nCo-Directed by Kim Carson \n\nPennsylvania Shakespeare Festival’s “Play On!” Community Tour brings free performances of William Shakespeare’s As You Like It to libraries\, parks\, and community centers all over the region. \nEscape into a world of laughter and love with Shakespeare’s most delightful comedy! Banished from the court\, Rosalind flees to the Forest of Arden with her cousin Celia and the hilarious clown Touchstone. In this magical realm\, love notes grow on trees\, romance rules\, and disguises lead to delightful confusion. Filled with wit\, poetry\, and music\, As You Like It is enchanting entertainment for all ages. \nAll performances are free to attend.

SUMMARY:Local Author Expo at The Lahaska Bookshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Sunday June 14\, 2026 from 1:00-3:00 PM for the Lahaska Bookshop’s Local Author Expo\, where we will showcase a variety of authors from our community. We are very excited to be able to expand our Local Author Expo into our Lahaska store as well as Doylestown\, to be able to accommodate more local authors and to celebrate authors who are local to the Lahaska area but are not necessarily Pennsylvania residents. \nParticipating Authors: Henry Corrigan\, Joseph Johnson\, and Jennifer Musser \nAbout the Local Author Expo: \nThis event began as the Local Author Spotlight at the Doylestown Bookshop and hosts authors from several genres for a large group book signing event in our store. The Doylestown Bookshop believes everyone’s voice should be heard\, whether with a small publisher\, self-published\, or with larger or more traditional publishers. We have re-branded this event as the Doylestown Bookshop’s Local Author Expo because it has grown in quality and quantity over the years. \nInterested in participating in a future Local Author Expo? Fill out this form: https://forms.gle/J48DCjVmzg6JSud39 or email events@doylestownbookshop.com with your name\, book title\, ISBN\, and publisher as applicable\, to be added to the waitlist. \nPlease note: The Doylestown and Lahaska Bookshops are committed to celebrating work that reflects human creativity\, knowledge\, and expertise. In keeping with that commitment\, our Local Author Expo events will not sell or promote books or art created by artificial intelligence (AI)\, either partially or wholly. The Doylestown and Lahaska Bookshops reserve the right to reject any work suspected of utilizing AI in its creation at any time before or during the day of the event.

SUMMARY:Author Cynthia Hankins at Lahaska Bookshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us in welcoming local author and equestrian Cynthia Hankins at The Lahaska Bookshop on Saturday\, June 27th\, 2026\, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m\, where she will be signing copies of her book Baxter Bay: A Pony’s Tale. This a signing only; there will not be a book talk. This event is free to attend and does not require registration. \n*If you would like to order a signed copy of the author’s books\, click here.  \nAbout the Book:\nFor young horse lovers and fans of classics like The Black Stallion\, Black Beauty\, and Misty of Chicoteague comes Baxter Bay\, a heartwarming and hilarious tale of two retired show ponies and friends reliving their glory days through storytelling. \nBaxter and Windy were once the stars of the show ring—glamorous\, graceful\, and totally unbeatable. But now? They’re retired\, furry\, a little creaky\, and full of opinions. Living out their golden years on a peaceful farm in Virginia\, these two ponies spend their days munching hay and sharing stories of their glory days with a group of wide-eyed young colts and fillies. \nBaxter is the polite\, humble hero of his past—a true gentleman. Windy\, meanwhile\, has attitude to spare and has never had a problem doing whatever it takes to win. Together\, they trade tales of young riders\, sparkling ribbons\, big wins\, and bigger flops. \nTold with humor\, heart\, and a little bit of sass\, Baxter Bay is a story about friendship\, growing older\, and the adventures that make you who you are—whether you’re bay\, gray\, or somewhere in between—that’s perfect for horse lovers\, animal fans\, and anyone who knows that being different just might be your biggest strength. \nAbout our Guest:\nCynthia Hankins is an accomplished author and hunter/jumper with a lifelong passion for horses—she began riding at the age of two. Today\, she teaches\, judges\, leads clinics\, and competes professionally both in the US and internationally. Her writing has appeared in publications including The Chronicle of the Horse\, Coast\, The Practical Horseman\,and In Stride magazines. Cynthia divides her time between Bucks County\, Pennsylvania\, and Calvados\, Normandy\, France\, where she lives with her husband and their tricolor Pembroke Corgi\, Sushi\, who speaks two languages but listens to neither.

SUMMARY:Authors Emily Ruth Verona & Grace R. Reynolds at The Lahaska Bookshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us in welcoming authors Emily Ruth Verona and Grace R. Reynolds at The Lahaska Bookshop on Saturday\, July 11th\, 2026\, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m\, where they will be signing copies of their books Shiva and Neon Moon. This a signing only; there will not be a book talk. This event is free to attend and does not require registration. \n*If you would like to order a signed copy of the author’s books\, click here \nAbout the Books: \nTWO LIVES\, ONE FATE. After a tragic accident took the life of her brother Thomas\, Eva is struggling to move on with her life\, counting cracks in the ceiling and trying not to fall off the wagon. But when the deceased Thomas shows up one evening in Eva’s apartment to tell her that she’s the one who died\, not him\, reality begins to fracture. As the universe attempts to reconcile its cosmic mistake\, the siblings must come to terms with a terrifying truth. \nDarlene Boone is a survivor. For more than a year\, she’s been bartending at the famous Teegarden Saloon\, a honky tonk in the Texas Hill Country\, while attempting to put her life back together in the wake of an abusive past. But when an axe-wielding maniac descends on The Teegarden during one of the bar’s busiest nights of the year\, Darlene\, along with everyone else in the crowded establishment\, will have to put down their whiskeys and take up the nearest weapon if they’re to survive this unexpected night from hell. No one knows if they’ll make it out alive\, least of all Darlene\, but one thing’s for sure no matter what: Texans don’t go down without a fight. \n  \nAbout our Guests: \nEmily Ruth Verona is the author of the novel Midnight on Beacon Street and the novella Shiva. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Cinema Studies from the State University of New York at Purchase. She is a Pinch Literary Award winner\, a Bram Stoker Awards® nominee\, and a Rhysling Award Finalist. Her work has been featured in magazines and anthologies that include This Way Lies Madness\, Under Her Skin\, The Ghastling\, The Jewish Book of Horror\, Under Her Eye\, Monstrous Futures\, Monster Lairs\, Strange Horizons\, and Nightmare Magazine. She lives in New Jersey with a very small dog. \nGrace R. Reynolds is an American speculative fiction writer. She was raised in New Jersey and graduated from Rutgers University. Having lived in seven states\, she currently calls Maryland ‘home\,’ where she writes dark fiction and poetry. In addition to her short fiction\, she is the author of Lady of the House and two other collections of poetry. These include The Lies We Weave\, which was nominated for the SFPA Elgin Awards\, and Midnight Blue. She is also the author of her debut novella\, Neon Moon. Her poetry and short stories have also been featured in magazines and anthologies\, and she was co-editor of the anthology\, Poisoned Soup.
