SUMMARY:Authors Emily Ruth Verona & Grace R. Reynolds at The Lahaska Bookshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us in welcoming authors Emily Ruth Verona and Grace R. Reynolds at The Lahaska Bookshop on Saturday\, July 11th\, 2026\, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m\, where they will be signing copies of their books Shiva and Neon Moon. This a signing only; there will not be a book talk. This event is free to attend and does not require registration. \n*If you would like to order a signed copy of the author’s books\, click here \nAbout the Books: \nTWO LIVES\, ONE FATE. After a tragic accident took the life of her brother Thomas\, Eva is struggling to move on with her life\, counting cracks in the ceiling and trying not to fall off the wagon. But when the deceased Thomas shows up one evening in Eva’s apartment to tell her that she’s the one who died\, not him\, reality begins to fracture. As the universe attempts to reconcile its cosmic mistake\, the siblings must come to terms with a terrifying truth. \nDarlene Boone is a survivor. For more than a year\, she’s been bartending at the famous Teegarden Saloon\, a honky tonk in the Texas Hill Country\, while attempting to put her life back together in the wake of an abusive past. But when an axe-wielding maniac descends on The Teegarden during one of the bar’s busiest nights of the year\, Darlene\, along with everyone else in the crowded establishment\, will have to put down their whiskeys and take up the nearest weapon if they’re to survive this unexpected night from hell. No one knows if they’ll make it out alive\, least of all Darlene\, but one thing’s for sure no matter what: Texans don’t go down without a fight. \n  \nAbout our Guests: \nEmily Ruth Verona is the author of the novel Midnight on Beacon Street and the novella Shiva. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Cinema Studies from the State University of New York at Purchase. She is a Pinch Literary Award winner\, a Bram Stoker Awards® nominee\, and a Rhysling Award Finalist. Her work has been featured in magazines and anthologies that include This Way Lies Madness\, Under Her Skin\, The Ghastling\, The Jewish Book of Horror\, Under Her Eye\, Monstrous Futures\, Monster Lairs\, Strange Horizons\, and Nightmare Magazine. She lives in New Jersey with a very small dog. \nGrace R. Reynolds is an American speculative fiction writer. She was raised in New Jersey and graduated from Rutgers University. Having lived in seven states\, she currently calls Maryland ‘home\,’ where she writes dark fiction and poetry. In addition to her short fiction\, she is the author of Lady of the House and two other collections of poetry. These include The Lies We Weave\, which was nominated for the SFPA Elgin Awards\, and Midnight Blue. She is also the author of her debut novella\, Neon Moon. Her poetry and short stories have also been featured in magazines and anthologies\, and she was co-editor of the anthology\, Poisoned Soup.
