When we first started singing Irish music together (over a decade ago!)\, we were blown away by the Irish history we missed in our own schooling – history that’s often told through song. As we’ve learned more and more about our own heritage\, we started seeing ourselves and our family members in the Irish themes. We’re resilient\, we’re hard workers\, we love a sad song\, we love a drinking song… Peddlers Village is the perfect setting for this new version of our show\, which takes a deeper dive into Irish history. We’ll sing some old songs that were likely sung by our great-great grandparents\, and we’ll sing songs by more recent Irish artists like Pete St. John\, U2\, and the Cranberries. We want to come away from every show with the sense that we are part of something much bigger than ourselves. We want to honor and thank all who have gone before us – who have paved the way for the life we enjoy today. As they say: if you’re lucky enough to be Irish… then you’re lucky enough.”
