STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL ARTISAN INFORMATION

in Peddler's Village Strawberry Festival.
Strawberry Festival - May 1 & 2, 2010

The Peddler's Village Artisan Committee meets twice a year to jury in new artisans for our annual events. All work submitted for consideration must be handmade by the artisan applicant. Peddler’s Village does not allow any commercially or mass produced merchandise to be sold by artists juried in to participate at The Street Road Artisan Area. The artisan who creates the work must be present for the duration of the show.
All artisans applying for consideration must submit a minimum of three photographs of their work AND a photograph of their display at a recent show. Please be sure to clearly label the back of each photograph with your name and address. We also require an “artist’s statement” with your submission. This statement should include a brief description of your creative process (how you create your work, a list of materials, and any details you feel may be of interest to the judges). We also ask that you include a general range of your price points.
PLEASE NOTE: COMMERCIALLY-PRODUCED MERCHANDISE IS NOT PERMITTED!!
If your work is approved by the Artisan Committee, you will be sent an invitation listing the requirements for the Strawberry Festival. A $75.00 space fee is due at the time you return your invitation. Do not send your $75.00 space fee until you have been extended an invitation. Artisans are also required to pay a 12% commission on their total weekend sales. Please Note: This fee is subject to change. Details will be included with your registration form.
A single booth space is approximately 12' x 12'. You may apply for a “double” space ($150). Artisans are required to provide complete ground cover for any areas you and your customers will be walking or standing. Artisans are responsible for providing their own tents, tables, and display racks. Artisans may provide their own quiet generator for electricity.
If you have already been juried in by the Peddler’s Village Artisan Committee for the Strawberry or Apple festivals - there is no need to re-apply for either of those events. You will continue to receive invitations to each of these events – whether or not you choose to attend each year - unless you have been juried out by the Artisan Committee.
