LIGHT UP YOUR HOLIDAYS
AT PEDDLER’S VILLAGE!
Grand Illumination Celebration and Debut of Gingerbread House Display on November 17

(LAHASKA, PA) October 27, 2006

Light up your holiday season at the Peddler’s Village Grand Illumination Celebration on Friday, November 17, 2006, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. The annual Gingerbread House Competition and Display also debuts the evening of November 17.

Santa Claus “switches on” the Village’s display of nearly one million holiday lights at 6:15 p.m. to kick off the holidays and his weekend visits with children at Giggleberry Fair. Don’t miss the magical moment when thousands of tiny white lights suddenly outline the many Village buildings and colorful lights adorn the trees and shrubs. Along with the dramatic display of lights, enjoy festive holiday music and complimentary refreshments. After the ceremony, Santa will ride in a horse drawn carriage to Giggleberry Fair where he will greet children for the rest of the evening.

Hot cider, heated in an old fashioned kettle, will be served with marshmallows toasted over an open fire. Local school choirs will perform seasonal favorites throughout the evening.

Don’t miss the annual Gingerbread House Competition and Display that opens on November 17. This free holiday display, located in the Gazebo on the Upper Village Green, features more than 100 incredible creations of gingerbread and confection and will be open through January 5, 2007.

Visitors are also invited to preview the merchants’ distinctive choices for holiday gift giving until 10 p.m. as part of the Merchants Open House weekend, November 17-19. Village shopkeepers will welcome visitors with something for everyone on your gift list.

The Village’s extended holiday shopping hours are November 17 through December 30, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday though Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
