SWEET SECRETS OF SUCCESS REVEALED AT PEDDLER’S VILLAGE GINGERBREAD CONSTRUCTION DEMONSTRATION
(LAHASKA, PA)…Learn how to make, bake and decorate a gingerbread house from the foundation up at the annual Peddler’s Village Gingerbread Construction Demonstration, to be held Thursday, October 12, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Culinary expert Debi Lang, of Abington, Pa., will conduct the demonstration at the Village’s Foxbriar Farm. The demonstration is held in conjunction with the Village’s annual Gingerbread House Competition & Display, held November 17, 2006 through
January 5, 2007.
Demonstration attendees will see models in different stages of construction and learn the inside story on how many of them are made. Additionally, participants will receive a recipe for gingerbread construction and refreshments. The fee is $20 per person. Advance registration is required; please call Jane Hood at 215-794-4059.
Lang is a member of the International Association of Cooking Professionals and studied at L'Academie de Cuisine, Bethesda, Md., under Roland Mesnier, executive pastry chef of the White House. She has won several awards for excellence in teaching in the culinary arts, including the Wilton Industries' 1995 Imperial Club Award and its 1997 National Teacher Coordinator Award. Her work has been featured in publications such as Early American Life and on KYW-3 Evening News and on CN8’s Lynn Doyle’s Holiday Favorites. Lang also serves as a judge for the Peddler's Village Gingerbread House Competition & Display.
