CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS AT THE PEDDLER’S VILLAGE CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL

Santa arrives by parade and welcomes children at Giggleberry Fair!

(LAHASKA, PA) November 13, 2006…Welcome the holidays and the arrival of Santa Claus at the annual Peddler’s Village Christmas Festival on Saturday, December 2, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (shops open until 9 p.m.), and Sunday, December 3, from 10 a.m. to
6 p.m. Free admission and parking.

Hot mulled cider, heated in an old fashioned kettle, will be sold on the Main Green, along with complimentary marshmallows for toasting. The Village grounds will be beautifully decorated for the holidays with fruit wreaths and greenery. By evening, enjoy the nearly one million twinkling lights that line the shops and decorate the trees.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in a horse-drawn carriage, as part of an old-fashioned parade through the Village. Other parade participants include the Central Bucks East Marching Band; Spiced Punch Singers (Victorian carolers); Stiltwalker and several area Girl Scout Troops.

Following the parade, Santa will entertain children at his indoor workshop, located in Giggleberry Fair. Santa’s hours are as follows from November 18 through December 23:

Fridays 4-8 p.m.; Saturdays 11-6 p.m.*;
Sundays 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
(*Saturday, December 2, Santa will be at Giggleberry Fair only from 2-6 p.m.)

A “must see” for visitors is the 26th Annual Gingerbread House Competition and Display, featuring over 100 incredible creations of gingerbread and confection in the Village Gazebo. The spectacular display will be open through January 5, 2007. Admission is free.

The weekend's line-up of entertainment includes:
Peter Pix, one-man band, will charm with music from Frank Sinatra to The Beach Boys, Saturday,
1-3 p.m., Village Flower Shoppe.
Diablo Sandwich mixes together a line-up from the 80’s and 90’s, classic rock & roll, swing, dance music, and classic soul and blues, Saturday,
4-6 p.m., Main Green.
Mike Brill will captivate whether he is playing traditional Irish songs or pop songs, Saturday,
1-3 p.m., Courtyard.
Give and Take Jugglers delight the crowd with their comedic juggling act with plenty of audience participation, Sunday, 3:30-5:30 p.m., Main Green.
Nassau Brass This band’s awesome collection of horn players gives every song a feel that just makes you want to dance, Sunday, 12-2 p.m., Main Green.
Stiltwalker strolling 1-4 p.m., Sat. & Sun.
Spiced Punch, Victorian Carolers, strolling
1-3 p.m., Sat. & Sun.
New Hope-Solebury Jazz Ensemble,
11 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Main Green.
