SAVOR THE SWEETNESS FO THE SEASON AT THE 35TH ANNUAL PEDDLER'S VILLAGE APPLE FESTIVAL

(LAHASKA, PA) October 16, 2006

Surround yourself with a luscious array of green, golden and red delicious apples at the 35th Annual Peddler’s Village Apple Festival weekend, to be held Saturday, November 4, and Sunday, November 5, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to apples galore, guests will discover festive foods, handmade crafts, and live entertainment, along with fun-filled family activities. Admission is free and there are acres of free parking for both cars and buses. The Apple Festival is held rain or shine.

The weekend’s highlights include:
• Apple Pie Eating Contest, held at 3 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, provides lots of laughs and prizes for winners. Competitions will be held in these age categories -- 10 and under, 11-14 and 15 and up. Contestants are chosen by lottery and must sign up from 10 a.m.-2: 45 p.m. at the Hospitality Booth on the Main Green.
• Apples will be served up in a variety of forms -- fresh from the orchard; dipped in creamy caramel, nuts and chocolate; as butter; and in fritters, dumplings, and cider -- all served at booths scattered throughout the Village.
• Over 40 artisans will demonstrate and sell their fine handcrafted items in the Artisans Area on the Street Road Green, including, decorative ironwork, folk art, jewelry, pottery, Victorian stained glass, leather creations, hand-painted and reproduction furniture.
• Peddler’s Village restaurants will feature delicious apple specialties.

This year's entertainment schedule features:
• SACHA, spirited performances from musicians playing folk music of their native Andes. Playing both days, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. near the Wagon Shops.
• Wild Rice—Entertaining music for the entire family, Saturday 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the Gazebo.
• Diablo Sandwich—This band’s awesome collection of horn players gives every song a feel that just makes you want to dance. The band mixes together a line up of songs that include music from the 80’s and 90’s, classic rock ‘n roll, swing, dance music and classic soul and blues. Performing on Sunday, 3:30-6:30 p.m. on the Main Green.
• Everyone’s favorite tall pal, Stiltwalker strolls the Village on Saturday and Sunday, 1-3 p.m.
• Peter Pix—This one-man band will captivate you with songs of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Playing Sunday, 1-3 p.m. in the Artisans Area.
• Give and Take Jugglers will amaze and entertain with their skills, Sunday 1-3 p.m. on the Main Green.
• Christy Jefferson plays her diverse mix of original folk, rock, pop, cabaret, swing, and blues on Saturday, 1-3 p.m. in the Artisans Area.
• Giggles the Giggleberry Monkey mascot will stroll the Village both days to delight young and old.
• Mike Brill will captivate you whether he is playing traditional and rebel Irish songs or pop music, Saturday at 1-3 p.m. at the Village Flower Shoppe.
• Ralph DelVecchio and his accordion will amaze you, Sunday, 1-3 p.m. at the Village Flower Shoppe.
• Lindsay Rush, an accomplished vocalist, thoughtful songwriter and passionate guitarist, will perform in the Courtyard, Saturday, 1-3 p.m. Lindsay has opened for Lisa Loeb and performed on the Camplified Tour.
