IT’S CROWTIME AT PEDDLER’S VILLAGE!

Peddler’s Village Presents the 30th Annual Scarecrow Festival
September 13-14

(LAHASKA, Pa.) July 22, 2008…Peddler’s Village presents the 30th Annual Scarecrow Festival, Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14, 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Free admission and parking. Rain or shine. 

Enjoy festival activities including the Scarecrow-Making Workshops and Pumpkin Pie Eating Contests both days, Pumpkin Painting on Sunday, and live musical acts and family entertainment throughout the weekend. 

The Scarecrow Making Workshops will take place Saturday and Sunday on the Street Road Green at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.  Peddler’s Village staff will teach you how to create a unique, life-size scarecrow to take home and display. All scarecrow building materials are included in the $25 nonrefundable workshop fee.  Maximum four people per scarecrow. Registration by September 12 is required. Pumpkin Painting will be held on the Main Green on Sunday from 11 a.m. until supplies run out.  Brushes, paint and pumpkins will be provided and a nominal fee will be charged based on pumpkin weight.  No reservations are needed for this first-come, first-served activity. 

Pumpkin Pie Eating Contests are both days at 3 p.m. on the Main Green Balcony.  Categories are 10 years old and under, 11 to 14 years old and 15 years old and over.  Sign up at the hospitality booth each day from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.  Six participants per age group, names are drawn before the contest at 3 p.m. 

Colorful scarecrow creations competing for more than $5,000 in cash prizes will be on outdoor display through Sunday, October 26.  Vote for your favorites! Ballots are available in all shops and restaurants and ballot boxes will be located in Giggleberry Fair and the Cock ‘n Bull. Winners will be announced the week of October 6th.

Saturday and Sunday, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Strolling... Everyone's favorite tall pal stands out in a crowd!

Pumpkin Pie Eating Contests
Saturday and Sunday, 3:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Main Green
Sign up at the Hospitality Booth on the Main Green for this fun-filled contest.  Categories include 10 & under, 11-14 and 15 & over.  Six contestants in each category will be chosen in a random drawing. 

Pumpkin Painting
Sunday, 11:00 a.m. until supplies run out

Diablo Sandwich
Sunday, noon-4 p.m.
The band mixes together a line-up of songs that includes music from the 80's and 90's, classic rock and roll, swing, dance music and classic soul and blues. 

Jim Rowland
Sunday, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Singer/guitarist Jim Rowland articulates the tradition of great rock & roll and songwriting with one voice and one acoustic guitar. 

Nassau Brass
Sunday, 4:00 p.m. -6:00 p.m.
This brass quintet prides themselves on their vast repertoire. 

SACHA
Saturday and Sunday, all day
This crowd pleasing duo performs traditional music of the Andes.
