HISTORY COMES ALIVE AT PEDDLER'S VILLAGE EVENING IN THE COLONIAL KITCHEN!
What's educational, exciting, edible and historical? Evening in the Colonial Kitchen at The Cock 'n Bull Restaurant! Monday, January 7th is the opening night of the 29th season of Evening in the Colonial Kitchen (also known as "Colonial Dinner") the popular food event that runs from 5 - 9 p.m. every Monday evening from January through March

Featured on The Food Network's "Best Of," the event is particularly suited for families and school groups and includes a savory four-course, 18th-century style dinner in which guests may select a generous sampling of two out of eight entrees and four desserts. Patrons may take home the keepsake menu along with a pamphlet of Colonial recipes.

Upon arrival or after dining, guests have the opportunity to observe and ask questions of food historians as they prepare savory dishes over a roaring fire. They share the secrets of baking pies in a Dutch oven, roasting beef on a "clock-work jack" or in a "tin kitchen," cooking fish laced onto a plank, sautéing Maryland crab in a "spider," as well as baking hearty breads and Johnny cakes.

Every night of Evening in the Colonial Kitchen, period musical entertainment will be provided by Pan's Fancy, featuring Karen Myers on lute and Edwin George on recorder. Appearing for the fifth season, this spirited musical duo's 18th-century repertoire has become a welcome addition to the activities.

Evening in the Colonial Kitchen is a great value at $17.95 for adults and $9.95 for children 10 and under. Group dinners for families, schools, organizations or businesses may also be arranged. Reservations are recommended, please call 215-794-4000.
